The Lucia Estate is located in Cadenabbia on Lake Como's 'golden shore’ - suitably described to reflect the extra sun the Western shoreline enjoys. It is ideally located to reach all the major towns on the lake such as Bellagio, Menaggio, Tremezzo, Laglio (famed now as the home to George Clooney) and Como itself. Just a short walk is the Lido di Cadenabbia with its beautiful swimming pool, bar & restaurant and beach. Also just 100m from the villa is the Cadenabbia ferry port which provides access to all major towns on the lake for both cars and passengers, with Tremezzo and Villa Carlotta ports also within walking distance.
BARS & RESTAURANTS
There are some fabulous pavement cafes, restaurants and typical Italian bars a walk away from the villa to cater for breakfast, lunch and dinner and anything in between! A must is dinner at our favourite - Al Veluu which is said to be one of the best restaurants in Europe and a favourite with many of the rich and famous!
During the summer Lake Como really comes alive with boats, swimmers and divers. We’d certainly recommend taking a couple of boat excursions - a great way to explore Como and truly appreciate this area and the glamorous lakeside villas dotted around the coastline. Wine tasting is worth experiencing in the local Cantina Follie in Tremezzo.
Menaggio & Cadenabbia Golf Course is located nearby; this fantastic 18 hole, par 70 course is one of the most ancient golf courses in Europe and offers spectacular views enroute. For the keen golfers, this is open from March to November, so certainly one to add to your list! The world famous Villa D'Este also offers an 18 hole course and is said to be the most varied and difficult of the European par 69 courses, along with one of the most magnificent viewpoints on Lake Como itself.
VILLAS & GARDENS
The central lake area is famous for some of the most elegant villas and gardens that are open to the public. Some of our favourites include Villa Carlotta (just a short walk from Villa Lucia), the 17th Century Villa Serbelloni situated across the waters in Bellagio and also Villa Balbianello, made famous by Star Wars and James Bond and accessible by boat.
